Cajunlicious

Growing up, the kitchen was the most important room in the house. No matter what was going on, we could gather in the kitchen to eat, laugh, and enjoy being together. I was born and raised 25 minutes from downtown New Orleans and in this part of the country; food is more than simple sustenance. Food has always been a part of my life. On weekends, relatives of all ages gathered at my grandparent’s house to get together around the kitchen and fill plates and bowls with gumbo,  potato salad, crawfish Étouffée and jambalaya. After the eating, came the stories and hours of laughter. This is where my inspiration comes from. Although I have no formal culinary training, I feel I may have received the best training of all from watching my parents and grandparents in the kitchen.
