Cross of Echoes

Chester Smith, a 23 yr-old, wheelchair-bound black youth from the hinterlands of Mississippi is a graduate student at Stanford University when he volunteers for a hypnosis experiment at the medical school. Lo! In repeated trances, he unexpectedly regresses 2000 years to a past life as Jesus Christ. He even utters ancient Aramaic, Christ's principle language. Dr. Shonna Rice, heading this research, proclaims that past-life regressions are pure fabrication. But when the media learns of Chester, it hypes him till the Christian world spins into religious frenzy. Even the Vatican sends over a pair of sleuthing priests to investigate. Young Chester achieves true superstar status. Here's the crux: might he, in fact, be the Second Coming or a channel for the Lamb of God or is he something far different? God only knows!
