Publisher Description
In a funeral tribute to Denis Glover later published in the Listener, Allen Curnow began: 'What am I to say about Denis? He was my oldest, closest and best-loved friend. It was the greatest good fortune in my life, when I first met him, 46 years ago. It was a wet wintry day in 1934, in Christchurch, near the crossing of High Street and Manchester Street. My brother John said, "There's Denis Glover". I ran across the street and stopped him'.
