“Sometimes the past has a way of catching up with you!”
This is a well-known saying, but what if the past were reaching into the present, serving as a guide to lessons long ago learnt and forgotten.
The story of “Deirdre” from Celtic folklore is re-told by the author and carried forward to a modern day career girl who finds herself isolated when her career aspirations cause great fear among her colleagues. Dee Daniels, a chemical buyer in the pharmaceutical industry, dreams of a new life in Switzerland. Tumultuous events evolve, that have her struggling with burnout amid the devious manipulations of Jack Cunningham, and it seems the dream of a new life is fading beyond reach. But is everything going wrong or is life simply taking her on a much needed journey?
This is the story of a woman’s fight for personal freedom, and her journey to finding her voice. It tells us that life has a way of giving us exactly what we need but perhaps not quite in the way we might have envisaged. It is the story of transformation and recognising that we must sometimes travel through the darkness to get to the light.
