Developing Confidence, Enabling Success

Tomlinscote is a highly successful school in Camberley, Surrey. It is very popular with families and their children who make excellent progress, whatever their starting points. Our community is committed to providing a happy and caring environment in which each student is able to realise his or her potential and develop into successful adults.

Tomlinscote is a large school with 300 students joining us in Year 7 each September, giving us a total population of approximately 1600. The school has recently joined The Prospect Trust and is one of two Outstanding academies, seeking to continue to innovate and help our students make progress.

All students and teaching staff have a personal iPad that they use in school and at home. All see it as an integral part of their academic toolkit in lessons every day. We have a suite of core apps that are used throughout the day, including G-Suite for Education, Padlet, GarageBand, Apple Classroom and Socrative. We are also developing how we use creative apps such as iMovie and Explain Everything. Our vision ‘Developing Confidence, enabling success’ ensures that we focus on preparing our students to be digitally adept as they leave us and go on to higher education and the world of work. We have a team of Digital Champions (staff) and Digital Leaders (students) that promote the use of the iPad throughout the school.  We have our own internal resource centre for staff and students, Tomlinscote Learning Centre (TLC) and an internal bookstore to share any digital media with our community.
