Publisher Description

Charities, in Australia and many parts of the world, are in a crisis of identity that could impact the very fabric of their societies. If charities lose their way, millions of the most vulnerable people could be affected.

Even as it powerfully addresses this challenge, 'Driven by purpose' provides practical analysis and expert advice on how charities can be highly effective, purpose-driven organisations now and into the future.

This is a must-read book for everyone in the charity and not-for-profit sector, those concerned with the defining role of charities in our societies, and, more broadly, anyone who longs to be driven by purpose in life and leadership.

The Chief Executive Officer of World Vision Australia, Tim Costello AO, says in his foreword to 'Driven by purpose':

'Our purpose can never be to simply manage. All of us must be intent on making a difference for the better in the world. It's critical that we don't ever confuse purpose with the means and tools by which we achieve it...Those who lead not-for-profit organisations, and those who guide and advise them, will benefit enormously from the practical leadership advice that [authors] Anne [Robinson] and Stephen [Judd] present - advice based on extensive experience.'

Although written initially with Australian charities in view, Driven by purpose delivers principles and draws on research and examples from across the globe.

'Driven by purpose: Charities that make the difference' has two parts, the first explores the ingredients of identity and purpose while the second explores how being purpose-driven works in practice.
