Publisher Description

Eugene Onegin is a famous novel in verse written by noble Russian author Alexander Pushkin. Eugene Onegin is a classic of Russian literature and the central character of which became a model for a number of heroes of Russian literature. The novel was published in 1833, accepted version based on 1837 publication.

The story is being told by a narrator, which is a little bit changed version of Pushkin’s public image. He sounds intimate, educated and worldly. The story is about Eugene Onegin in the 1820s. He is a Saint Petersburg dandy, whose life is nothing but a waste of life on visiting balls, concerts and parties. One day he gets inheritance from his uncle which is a landed estate. When he moves to the country he strikes up a friendship with his neighbor. And that’s where begins the novel full of love, drama and plots.

The book is admired by the readers for the artfulness of its verse narrative as well as for its exploration of life, death, love, ennui, convention and passion.
