SHE ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE.
Dr. Mia Ripley isn't even supposed to be a part of the FBI, let alone working for the best division in the nation. Since her transfer to PAVAD, she's been nearly burned alive by a madman and then shot by a cult leader's lackey. She's lucky she survived--either attack.
EVEN PAVAD ISN'T SAFE FOR HER.
FBI Agent Evan Stephenson has found his place with PAVAD, and it is where he belonged, even after a rocky start. Now he has people in St. Louis who care about him—including friend and next-door neighbor, Mia Ripley.
But now someone wants Mia dead, and won't stop for anything. Evan promises to protect the one woman he has ever loved. But Evan isn't the only one. Someone else wants to protect Mia. For Evan. Someone who isn't entirely sane.
Someone who's just far too dangerous for the girl-next-door...

Too many hanging endings
Story of two main characters left hanging. Last you read, she’s going in ambulance with lead male, then nothing. All this drama about why they wanted to kill her, you get all hyped about that being discovered, then there’s the most confusing shootout in court, then nothings comes of that either…
Only person who gets an ending/epilogue is the dad. And that’s how we know the couple is expecting because he gets a letter, reads the only part of the we get to know about - ‘Dear Dad…’, and says ‘I’m going to be a granddad’.
That how we know the only ending of the lead couple.
300+ pages of a story, with so many twists… you gotta end, or wrap up their story…
Very frustrating for to spend so long reading to be left hanging like that. It’s like author just got tired at the end.
