Fire & Ice

An Original Musical Superhero Adventure

Jason Beghtol and Others

Publisher Description

Fire & Ice is a new work by Jason Beghtol for trombone trio and percussion based around a new original superhero. Beghtol is the assistant band director, jazz band director, and brass instructor at Northeast Mississippi Community College. Beghtol wanted to combine two areas he enjoys, that being the trombone and the superhero story of having super abilities and choosing to do what's right when facing adversity.

The hero of the story is a military prototype who was cryogenically frozen for preservation. He was fixed with a pair of bionic legs that gave him the abilities of speed and flight. During the freezing process, the parts of the body that were human were completely consumed by the ice that was to preserve him. He discovers he is able to manipulate the ice. Thus, a new hero is born with a body of ice bound to a pair of bionic legs. Follow our hero as he protects the world from a demon who wishes to control it by retrieving the power of the "Rod of God."
