These exquisite Irish-language haiku by Gabriel Rosenstock have been praised not as cultural hybridisation but rather as a continuation of an old tradition. As Kuno Meyer says in Ancient Irish Poetry: ‘To seek out and watch and love Nature, in its tiniest phenomenona as in its grandest, was given to no people so early and so fully as to the Celt.’
