Publisher Description
Thelma Wells has known a lifetime of achievements and victories over obstacles, as well as a wealth of meaningful relationships and abundant ministry to countless others. But recently, God led her into dark valleys–including an almost fatal illness–as part of His plan to deepen her firsthand knowledge of Himself as the Great I AM. This rich experience is what she shares with you, along with plenty of smiles and laughter, in God Is Not Through with Me Yet.
She’s the first to say, “Thelma doesn’t have it all together. No one has it all together.” But the Lord has filled her heart to overflowing with new appreciation for His loving wisdom and His healing truth. It’s an overflow that spills out, with clarity, and humor, on every page of this book.
With personal stories and solid biblical teaching that open your heart to God’s truth, Thelma guides you to a deeper faith and an exuberant desire to follow your Lord…even through your life’s most turbulent storms. With the warmth of a grandmother, the wit of a jokester, and the wisdom of a woman in the Word, Thelma opens your eyes to the full wholeness God has for you.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Popular Women of Faith presenter Wells speaks with delightful\t\t winsomeness of her tender relationship with God in this uplifting, if uneven,\t\t guide to an abundant life. Wells, who endured multiple complications following\t\t a surgery, details her harrowing experience and what she learned about Christ's\t\t enabling strength. The author always believed her personal relationship with\t\t Jesus was characterized by intimacy and committed love; now, as a\t\t great-grandmother, she feels her spiritual understanding is richer and more\t\t precious than ever before. Wells offers snapshots of her life history,\t\t describing being raised by her own devout great-grandmother, and how early on\t\t she was assured of God's active participation in her poverty-stricken life.\t\t Readers will gain deep appreciation for Wells's struggles and triumphs, and\t\t read with interest the assorted vignettes in which Wells played counselor and\t\t prayer warrior to other hurting Christians. However, the writing is lackluster\t\t and disorganized; much of this text is presented with little transitioning from\t\t one topic to the next. Further, a hefty one-third of the book is allotted to\t\t simply listing various Bible passages by theme. While Wells has an interesting\t\t personal testimony, her written work is disappointing compared to her public\t\t speaking.
