Growing Up Polar Bear

From the shore to the sea ice and back again, this story follows a fictional polar bear family in the Hudson Bay region navigating the challenges that hundreds of polar bear cubs and their mothers must face in the crucial first year of the cubs’ lives.  


The purpose of this narrative is twofold: First, it is meant to entertain and to inform you about this critical stage in the life cycle of a polar bear. More importantly, it is a call to action. In introducing you to this polar bear family I hope to instill in you, the reader, a sense of urgency about the need to respond immediately and decisively as a global community to the threat of climate change, for the bears’ sake and for our own
