Publisher Description

When Karen Yellowdragon, an oat farmer from a small island that is part of the Lahyrntian island area of Vazkelt, lost her job as a wartime factory worker after a war ended, she, as an unmarried woman, sought to compete in automobile races in Vazkelt and on the Lahyrntian mainland.

In her quest for racing glory, which took her from Vazkelt to the Lahyrntian mainland and back, Karen purchased a race car from one of Lahyrnt's greatest racing legends, Kaiser Easthouse, and she sought to compete against men in the male-dominated world of automobile racing in Lahyrnt. At every turn, the men of Lahyrntian automobile racing sought to derail Karen's attempt to compete and win on the racetrack, even if doing so meant ruining the reputation of motorsports in Lahyrnt at the worst possible time.

Lady in the Fast Lane, the first story of The Chronicles of Vazkelt, is a story of and about self-determination, self-empowerment, perseverance, and a willingness to win.
