Publisher Description

Leading without Leading looks at Leadership from a new and completely fresh angle and argues that anyone can – and will - lead – once they understand what Leadership actually is.

We’ve all been told that Leadership is like a secret power or a magic skill that you are either born with or you can only learn by studying for an MBA, attending a business school or by completing a corporate leadership coaching program.

The secret to Leadership is – that it’s not really a secret.

Leadership is about you: about you being who you really are and allowing the qualities you already possess to inspire others.

And the magic of Leadership is that you already have everything you need to be an outstanding leader.

This book, Leading Without Leading, will help you discover the simplicity of leadership.

It will help you to develop the skills of Leading in life – your work life, your home life, your family life, your personal life, your sporting life. You will learn that Leading is easy – it’s simple and yet it gives you the power to change everything.

For more than 25 years Wayne Goldsmith has worked with some of the world’s most outstanding, successful and influential sporting leaders. He has searched relentlessly for the secret and the magic of great Leadership and arrived at the conclusion that there’s nothing secret or magical about it.

Each chapter reveals practical, real-world, first-hand insights into Leaders and Leadership designed to help you integrate leadership into your own life and to become comfortable and courageous in influencing and inspiring everyone around you.

The book starts with a look at how leadership has changed and challenges the traditional thinking and beliefs about leadership.

Wayne discusses the impact and importance of daily leadership in helping you to realize your potential and how, by integrating some simple leadership practices into your life you can overcome many of the obstacles, difficulties and challenges you are facing.

The most important message in this book is that Leadership is something which you can learn easily, practice readily and apply simply in every aspect of your daily life.

It isn’t about learning to speak more powerfully in public or becoming the CEO of Fortune 500 Company.

Leadership is about learning to be all you can be – all that you dream of becoming – by quite simply being comfortable being yourself.

You can then use the power of your unique and personal Leadership – to inspire the hearts and minds of others by quietly, subtly and connectedly influencing them to be all they can be….to Lead without Leading.

About the Author:

For more than 25 years Wayne Goldsmith has worked with some of the world’s leading athletes, coaches and teams. He’s spent a lifetime looking for the secret to success – relentlessly seeking out that one rare and precious quality which the best of the best possess that is the very essence of their greatness.

He’s spent a quarter of century looking for the secret to success in the USA, the UK, across Europe, throughout Africa and all over Asia and the Pacific.

He’s sat for thousands of hours in cars, planes, trains, boats, buses, taxi-cabs, trams and cable-cars. He’s ridden on bikes and trikes and walked a lot of long, hot, hard hikes.

He’s checked into over 1500 hotels - from ½ star hovels (and they were lucky to get that half star) to luxurious 6-star villas on the Mediterranean and slept on and in every possible sleeping surface: beds, couches, chairs, bath-tubs, corridors, airport arrival areas, hotel lobbies, apartment landings, caravans, mobile homes, tents and even – on more than one occasion – dirty, greasy, grimy kitchen floors. It was on one of these kitchen floors that he woke up in the middle of the night to find a very large and very hungry looking rat sitting on his chest.

He’s eaten some of the most frightening and disturbing take-away food you can imagine from crocodile burgers to chicken embryos and even eaten live Octopus all in his search to explain the difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary, the mediocre and the remarkable, the average and the outstanding.

And after sitting on all those uncomfortable seats, sleeping on all those dirty floors, meeting all those rats and eating all that terrible food, he decided to write a book about what he learnt which you get to read without ever leaving the comforts of home.
