Machines

Susan has a problem with her machines. She can't replace a simple household appliance, the taxis are on strike, then a software upgrade leaves her without a job. She resorts to Child of the Apes Pty Ltd—provider of engineering services just like your mother used to make 'em—who have an agenda of their own.

To take back control of her life, Susan has to re-invent herself as an assistant to automated wealth maximisation, a go-between for machines seeking alternative engineering services, and a human science-fiction cartoonist.
