Mektoub

After a ten year absence Robert Duchene is drawn back to Algeria, his native land, where his father still farms among people who consider the French colonials soulless conquerors. He is unable to convince anyone that the country is on the brink of disaster. It is only after a series of attempts on his life that he dares approach his arrogant and bullying father to express his fears. While not a chip off the old block, he is about to finally be accepted as a Duchene, when his worst fears materialize and the Duchenes and their homestead are destroyed in a raging battle.
