Introduction Working in a dedicated CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) team for looked after children one of the greatest satisfactions comes from being part of an integrated multi-agency service, working alongside practitioners from diverse backgrounds, all of whom are passionate about helping looked after children. It was a further privilege throughout 2009-2010 to work with a national group of social care, health and education practitioners and academics, and people with experience of being looked after, as a member of the Programme Development Group for NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) and SCIE (Social Care Institute for Excellence), developing guidance on promoting the quality of life for looked after children and young people.
