Can I catch you during your first wake
We could stay along these threads
Or you could flicker your eyes
Until you lose the fight against sleep
Losing control as is

And so you drift instead of wonder
I know instead of guess
The way it feels inside of you
I fantasize about this way to care
This sun against your ocean
Your wind against my chest

Can I catch you in between
The minute you open and close your eyes
The way he doesn't have your darkness
Assures me that he knows nothing but light
But I won't burn what can't be caught
In visible lengths of day
For every shadow contains a contract
Control the dark-less day and rain
Without the gray that usually signals

And so you're still instead of in motion
Your chin barely moves
The feeling against your neck tattoo
They'll spot everything that excites you
Spots across your body
Bites that break through
No one else can do it
I've already imprinted on you
