Most of us live a life before we settle down. Some of us lead lives of which we are not proud, or even ashamed, and very often we want to forget all about that period and just move on.

David Gamunu led such a life, littered with cheating, shallow relationships, dodgy jobs, massage parlours and casual violence. But he didn’t shy away from his past when he finally saw the light. Instead, he wrote a book about it.

In a Quarter of a Century Old: Ascension of an Alpha, he tells a candid tale of the first 25 years of his life, from its early beginnings on a small Caribbean island, to moving to the United States of America and all that came with it.

He recalls his school years, selling marijuana to his classmates, losing his virginity and then descending into a pit of misery from which he only emerged after a chance meeting with a woman who changed his life.
