READY, SET, GO: Powered Mobility with Young Children

The ability to move independently is a critical factor in a young child's development and can impact cognitive, social, and communication skills.  When a child has a severe physical disability, powered mobility can be one early intervention technique used to promote important developmental skills. The Pediatric Powered Wheelchair Screening test (PPWST) and the Powered Mobility Program (PMP) were developed to aid clinicians in the decision making process when considering a powered wheelchair for a very young child.
