Jason Brand was convinced to go with his dog on one last assignment. One last simple task before he quit his job for good. Go up a river and meet with his partner. But as things progressed, it appeared that it was an assignment from which both he and his partner were never intended to return. Easy, right? Follow a stream with their rifles strapped to their backs, collect some samples, and return them to the lab for testing. Something in that stream was killing the fish. But as they got further into the project, they found that it wasn't only fish that were being killed.

They'd had enough of Government. After the military, after Iraq, and then working for the EPA, these two gun-toting scientists are faced with the task of ferreting out the truth and staying alive while doing it. Between them, their brilliance leads them to that truth, but then in a turn of events they are made an offer. An alien invasion is about to occur, and they are given the option to help or to die with the rest of mankind.

A derelict alien craft had been discovered floating in space, and for decades the Earth scientists had worked on reviving it, without success. Now, they discovered it was meant for an invasion for which they had no defense - an alien invasion that was going to happen in days.

Faced with danger from beginning to end, from mountain lions to aliens, to zombies and monsters, and of course, the Invaders themselves, our heroes struggle to save the Earth. With the help of some surprising allies they find along the way, and the help of their fearless dog, Bo, this is a story of action, adventure, and mystery.
