SAP Best Practices

When I started working for SAP two decades ago I asked this question on my first day “Where are the best practices?” Prior to joining the organization I had heard people in the industry mention that one of the strengths of SAP software was that it was based on best practices. I was excited: finally I would get to see them.

“There’s no list” answered my mentor. “It’s embedded into the processes supported by the system.”

“Ah,” I said, a little disappointed. After two decades as an SAP consultant I can comfortably confirm this. However, this book is not about those types of best practices, it’s about the best practices that should be observed when implementing, upgrading, modifying, and enhancing an SAP ERP system.
