Now Mark Jones was a pleasant looking detective in his early fifties. He had an athletic figure with intelligent and sympathetic blue eyes. He was a crime detective and was known as one of the best in his field. He had a keen, inquiring intelligence and a stubborn tenacity. The combination made him the best detective on the force. He was like a bulldog with a computer brain- so fast and accurate. He was good with all kinds of weapons, even with his hands. Mark Jones had been singlehandedly responsible for apprehending more criminals and solving more crime cases than all the other detectives at the Police Department put together. During his prime, he graduated from the police academy as one of the best students that even his superior heard about his performance. Within a few years, he had risen to the post of detective and later become the head of the department, unlike some of his colleagues who were still patrol officers. There was something that even made him more popular in the force. It was his one and only daughter Emily. She had taken after her father's footsteps, topping her class in the academy and graduating as the academy's valedictorian. Not just that, she also had a quick intuition for solving crimes. This made Mark a very proud father and role model.
