The Companion Set

A collection of song lyrics for both Uncle Black and The Katie Winter, and previously unreleased poetry. They cover releases from 2002 to date on the Backwater Records label. There are many themes which run through these songs and poems, but much is based on attempting to see beauty and hope in the small details, in good and bad times. There is a strong connection to the natural world and our finding our place within it.
