The Cost of Charity
Reflections on the contemporary medical mission in the developing world.
Publisher Description
This iBook provides an introduction to the issues of bioethics in the modern day medical mission. In discussing the origins, flaws, and potential improvements to the medical mission, this book draws from academic literature and personal experiences, making it both a research paper and a brief memoir. Written as part of the Youth Training Program for medical nonprofit LIG Global, this publication is designed to be accessible to all ages. “The Cost of Charity” is the product of a two year research effort, made possible through the assistance and guidance of LIG Global, Professor Sullivan at Northwestern University, and the AS program at New Trier High School.
