Publisher Description
A force of 300,000 Ottoman combatants set out from Constantinople to attack Vienna in 1683. Their objective was to conquer the infidels, and replace Western values with superior Muslim traditions. They were met by a somewhat smaller force consisting of mainly Catholics, both Germans, and Poles. The participation of Jan Sobieski, the Polish king and warrior, was instrumental in bringing about a Western victory.
Sobieski was able to capture a prized gold scimitar belonging to the Turkish General Kara Mustafa.
This valuable jewel was subsequently stolen from the King’s quarters.
The Vienna police under Chief Dossick, along with a clever sleuth Frantz Geza, and his beloved dog Petra, eventually tracked down the thieves. After many misadventures, the scimitar was recovered. It was proudly displayed in the Polish capital as a symbol of the triumph of Christian Values.
