The Illustrated Wynken, Blynken and Nod

The poem, "Wynken, Blynken and Nod," was written by American, Eugene Field, in 1883, and it has remained a literary cornerstone of folkloric fantasy until the present day. 

This exciting visual edition of the poem relates the adventures of a young boy who has trouble falling asleep one night. He uses his imagination and transforms his trundle bed into a wooden-shoe sailing ship. He sails through the pastel night skies, with his imaginary fishermen companions…casting golden nets to catch the glistening stars as they transform into herring fish in the sparkling sea foam…

The early morning return to his safe bed completes the sleepy voyage with the return of his mother's voice…"Now, shut your eyes while mother sings…of wonderful sights that be."
