1. Introduction The role of emotions in the formation of nursing professionals has been scarcely studied. However, our results show that emotions play an important role in a profession that requires not only technical expertise but also psychologically oriented care, knowledge about the self and emotions in nursing would be crucial to further development and growth of the profession. Thus, in this paper we focus both on students that are preparing themselves to be future nursing professionals and nursing professionals that face everyday a stressful context where they work.
