The Missing Song

In the early days of space exploration -- a time when new technologies mingle with the echoes of legendary civilizations, and new freedoms cross swords with old tyrannies -- a missing song becomes a critical link in an ancient struggle.

Kit's parents have disappeared somewhere near the Vega solar system. Enroute to a new home that was not her choice, she hears a desperate cry for help. Cary, who is on Mars to escape, hears it too. 

Forget completing her trading apprenticeship. Now Kit needs to know how to rescue her parents. What Cary seeks is more complicated, but he knows he will fight to get it.

What neither one knows: Some forces they can't imagine have made conflicting plans for Mars, and the plans already include them.
