Publisher Description

It costs a lot to pay a man to stand between you and the Wild. To risk his life, and the lives of his friends, for nothing more than money. The Red Knight has sworn a vow to protect the innocent. But if he gets paid as well, that's fine...

Destined for a life of betrayal and intriuge, the Red Knight has decided to follow another path. Hired by a nunnery to protect them from an unknown terror, he and his band of mercenaries think this will be an easy job. Good food, pretty company, strong walls and good pay - what more could they want? But the threat from the Wild is more dangerous, and more wide-ranging, than they can imagine...

The first standalone novel in a five-part series of epic fantasy inspired by Arthurian legend, THE RED KNIGHT demonstrates all of Miles (Christian) Cameron's skills - fantastic characters, detailed battles inspired by his own experience as a re-enactor of medieval warfare, and political machinations which will pull the rug out from under the reader. This 10th anniversary edition features additional material and revised text.

Fantastic. Best fantasy novel I've read in a long while. Can't wait for book two.

Fantastic story by an excellent, enthusiastic author that is unfortunately let down by numerous typos and occasional poor editing.
The sheer quantity of typos severely interrupt the flow of the story and some examples of the choppy editing include references to a knight guarding a fortress while in the next paragraph being incinerated miles away on a battlefield, interaction with characters as though we've been introduced to them already despite them being brand new, oh and one mention of London in a book where every other location is fantastical.
There are just so many more editorial mistakes for you to discover and as this ebook will cost you 11 euro for the pleasure you can add feeling ripped off at the nonexistent sub-editing to your feelings of disappointment.
This is such a pity as Miles (Christian) Cameron is usually such a detailed and accurate author who in this instance is poorly served if not downright insulted by his disgraceful editorial team.
