It was found that managers perceived that the usage of performance appraisal for the purposes of developmental is more effective than evaluation purposes. A t-test analysis shows a significant difference between the perceived effectiveness of using performance appraisal for developmental and evaluation purposes. This study also found that in order to have a high degree of appraisal acceptance from managers, the systems should incorporate the information validity components and ensure that data collected from appraisal process can be used effectively for evaluation decisions.
