Love may transcend time, but time can be a fickle mistress.

Asher is a Victorian bachelor who is an incredible disappointment to his noble father. When news of Howard Carter's discoveries in Egypt hit the papers, Asher is driven to finally find a way to prove his worth and gain his father's as yet unattainable respect.

After months of labor, he builds a time machine that can change everything. Except he can't get it working quite right. It keeps returning him to the same evening over and over every time he powers it up, a dinner party his father has negotiated as a means for him to woo the guest of honor.

But as he continues to return to the same timeframe, he begins to realize that the woman he is meant to woo has a dark secret. 

And that might be more dangerous than traversing time and space.
