The Visitors

On a hot August night, Jen Taverson is watching the Perseid meteor shower when a sudden explosion of light distorts the landscape. In the field before her strange forms emerge out of thin air and disappear. She tells the local people what happened, but of course no one believes her story. 

Only Rob McCord, a former photojournalist, is certain what Jen saw is real. His parents disappeared while looking for evidence of UFOs and he tells her their town has experienced alien visitors before. The arrival she witnessed has to signal some massive alteration. They never come without a mission.

But the alien visitors aren't here to invade. They're here to stop something far worse. Disturbing signs reveal to Jen and Rob the location of a portal in that has existed in the region for over a hundred million years. The alien visitors are intent on preventing one of their own species from reaching that portal and unleashing a catastrophe that will reshape Earth forever.
