APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
This novel gives a very warm welcome-back to one of our favourite characters from The Devil Wears Prada. When we first met Emily Charlton (played by Emily Blunt in the film adaptation), she was the venomous assistant to Miranda Priestly with “a job a million girls would die for”. Years later she has another role many would covet, but Runway magazine is a mere CV footnote. We rejoin our anti-heroine in the glamorous suburbs of New York City, where she's an overachieving image consultant with a swoon-worthy husband and an impeccable reputation to uphold. Lauren Weisberger’s portraits of Charlton and her determined frenemies are deliciously relatable and consistently laugh-out-loud funny.
