TPATSB Teachers/Social Work Edition

Publisher Description

Hello! First of all thank you for all that you do. As teachers and social workers, or people in related fields, you do amazing, valuable, and often extremely under appreciated work with your lives. So thank you.

I wrote this book after working with a child who had been abused, in foster care, and ended up being trafficked in the United States before I got to work with her. She often told me she struggled “feeling like a human” or “feeling like she could be a girl” and “wasn’t normal” because of what she had gone through. This story was created for kids like her (she was in high school at the time) and adults with similar experiences think about their stories in a different way.

Just as the seeds goes through many different things than others have and ends up in a different spot does not mean it does not develop into a tree. The characters in the book represent situations people will face in school and life settings, all of which can bring about helpful talking points. I tried to write with a diversity of needs in mind to help facilitate discussions from many points of view.

Also, I would love your feedback! I have a few more books in mind already and would love to cater to the needs kids have to create helpful tools in the form of good books.

Thanks again for all of you being you, in the perfect place for people as great as you to be!
