The Great Gatsby
Publisher Description
An Apple Books Classics edition.
The Roaring Twenties are in full effect in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s riveting classic. Man-about-town Jay Gatsby seems to have it all, including loads of money and a massive mansion where he hosts wild, extravagant parties every Saturday. But Gatsby’s missing one thing: Daisy Buchanan, the love of his life, the one who got away.
The Great Gatsby explores the impossible, but uniquely human, longing to return to the past and the costs associated with chasing the American Dream. It’s a beautifully written, entertaining read with timeless emotional appeal.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Most of us were assigned F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel in high school, but it’s 100 percent worth revisiting as an adult—the social satire and the heartbreak both hit harder. Jay Gatsby's quest to remake himself into a socialite feels unexpectedly familiar in an age when we we curate the perfect version of our lives on social media. (The status-conscious Fitzgerald even set this story in the Hamptons, past and present playground of the wealthy and fabulous.) Honestly, The Great Gatsby couldn't feel more of-the-moment if Daisy Buchanan's last name were actually Kardashian.

Super
Must readable book
TITLE: An exquisite book; accomplished in an exceedingly intriguing tone.
The elementary trait of this book is to make the reader avid. Avid not because of the plot, but the way it unleashes itself. The book drives us into contemplating the plot to be familiar to us, which it is; yet, it reveals itself with the most unanticipated twists. This book gives us a chance to ponder over those sublime, volatile moments of our lives which we tend to ignore with time. But, the protagonist Jay Gatzby didn’t. He remembered every little thing about his first true love Daisy, whom he first met during his years in the army. He was really hard up, right from the days when he was a boy. But, when with Daisy, he seemed to be homogenising with the gayety and splendour of the upper class, the royals. He doesn’t tell Daisy about his state of being. Eventually he is summoned to the war. During this long interlude, due to the inevitable circumstances which follow, Daisy marries somebody else who is opulent just like her. The rest of the story is about how Gatsby never lost his love for beautiful Daisy and how he earns his millions just to get her attention once again. The story has other important characters who have been placed beautifully. Also, there is an apathetic neighbour(of Gatzby) Nick Carraway who acts as the narrator of this story. The story mainly revolves around the royals of the 1920’s. It is an absorbing tale which weaves emotions, relations and people into a fine demeanour. It will definitely provide the reader with “AN” experience. To be more unambiguous, a very insightful and profound one.
P.S: I LOVED THE BOOK!!! It is certainly worth time and human energy….:)
Mesmerising
No doubt it’s one of the best classic novel. Mr. Gatsby a true gentleman. One of the best quote:
“Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter — tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther”
