Dr. Thaddeus Zimm has come up with a way to bring the dead back long enough for them to tell their stories, and the story the authorities most want to hear is how they died. The Zimm Industries procedure has changed the face of murder investigation, and field technicians are routinely called upon to bring dead victims of violent crime back and interview them. One field tech, Matt Freeman, has been at it for a while, now. Matt discovers that there's another side to Dr. Zimm's formula, and he finds himself caught in the middle.
