Sorrow and Demons

Meet Johnny. Odds are you don't know him. Johnny doesn't much care for people and avoids them when he can. He knows everyone suspects him. Try as hard as they might to hide their glances and whispers, they can't fool him. The voices, the demons tell him so. "Everyone knows, Johnny."

A homeless drifter with lethal compulsions, Johnny finds himself looking for some respite from the voices' prodding in a glass of whiskey in an empty Memphis roadhouse. His efforts to curb his urges to murder are broken when Matt Frost arrives at the roadhouse to escape the despair that has haunted him since the loss of his wife. These two very different men discover common ground in that Tennessee whiskey:

Sorrow and Demons is a creepy and disturbing psychological thriller. This piece of fiction toys with the ideas of religion and insanity and delivers the suspense expected of scary stories. It should appeal to reader of short stories and horror alike.
