Why People with OCD Polarize : Part 1

People with OCD do whatever they can to avoid engaging the world. And by polarizing--that is, by representing things in extreme terms ('if I don't get into Harvard, I'm doomed', 'If I do get into Harvard, I've got it made')---one is so representing the world as to minimize the extent to which one either can or should engage it.
