48 Portraits von Menschen, die es so nie gegeben hat

Inspiriert von den beeindruckenden 48 Portraits Gerhard Richters, die er 1972 für den deutschen Pavillon der Biennale in Venedig fertigte, spielen die "48 Portraits von Menschen, die es so nie gegeben hat" mit der wuchtigen Pathetik Richters. Sie kontrastieren mit ihrer Farbigkeit und stilistischen Vielfalt die Strenge des in die stilbildende Unschärfe gelegten Graus Richters und entfliehen so den Irrtümern einer in die monochrome Bilderwelt gelegten Bedeutungsschwere. Selbst digital produziert stellen sie sich in die digitale Bilderflut und schaffen so einen Kontrapunkt zur egalisierten Anonymität pseudoindividualisierter Selbstdarstellungsexzesse.



Inspired by the impressive 48 portraits Gerhard Richter made for the German Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 1972, the "48 Portraits of People Who Never Existed in this Way" play with Richter's massive patheticness. With their colorfulness and stylistic diversity they are contrasting the austerity of Richter's grayness placed in the style-forming blur and thus escaping the errors of a weight of meaning placed in the monochrome imagery. Digitally produced themselves, they place it in the digital flood of images and thus create a counterpoint to the egalized anonymity of pseudo-individualized self-portrayal excesses.
