ABOUT THIS BOOK:

«Captured Eagles Vol. I» contains more than 100 outstanding photographs of captured German WWII aircraft. These photographs were taken by Allied soldiers as they fought their way across Europe towards Berlin in 1944/45. What distinguishes this book from other, similar works is the fact that with the exception of only a handful, all photos have never been published before and show many extremely rare aircraft (e.g. the first published photo proof that the Ju 88 G-7 entered production). Since the author owns the majority of the original wartime photos he could directly scan them and by doing so achieving the best possible quality. In all other cases, he received scans directly from the owners of the original wartime photographs.

This digital edition is based on a previously published printed edition (ISBN 978-3-033-03007-7) of «Captured Eagles Vol. I». The content of both the printed and digital edition is the same, but this iPad version has even 13 additional bonus photos and new information that was not published in the printed edition.

VINTAGE EAGLE PUBLISHING:

«Vintage Eagle Publishing» was founded by Roger S. Gaemperle in 2011 in Switzerland. Our slogan is «Fine WWII Pictorial Reports» and hence, we are focusing on high quality photo books with previously unpublished photos of WWII aircraft and later also tanks and other vehicles. Decals are separately offered with each publication.

A second, similar volume is already under preparation with rare photos of a Ju 388 prototype, Bf 109 G-10 with JG 300 Reichsverteidigungs fuselage band, Fw 190 D-9, a Bf 109 G of a Kampfgeschwader(Jagd) unit with emblem, a Hs 129 and many more. Also, a pictorial dedicated to the Me 262 is planned for the future.

«Vintage Eagle Publishing» is constantly looking for previously unpublished photos of captured German planes. If a reader owns originals of such photos and if she/he doesn´t mind to share them with us, we will give full credits and send her/him a free copy of the book(s) in which the photo(s) appear.
