Descrizione dell’editore

China is the second-largest economy in the world yet it faces serious energy security challenges due to the country's reliance on coal, a fuel with multiple environmental and social problems. Moreover, since 2017 China has become the world's largest crude oil importer, greatly increasing its reliance on imported energy. The International Energy Agency has defined energy security as 'the uninterrupted availability of energy sources at an affordable price,' employing metrics in various dimensions such as availability, affordability, accessibility and acceptability to measure the energy security of different nations. Accordingly, the assessment, analysis and improvement of energy security is a complex problem. China's Energy Security aims to resolve this problem by answering three important questions:Contents: China's Energy Supply: Status Quo, Policies and Pathways (Long Zhang, Wuliyasu Bai, Mengqin Yu, and Jingzheng Ren)Conceptualizing and Redefining Energy Security: A Comprehensive Review (Aliaksandr Novikau)Historical Energy Security Performances of China: A Bi-Level Analysis (Yuzhuo Huang, Caixia Li, and Ken'ichi Matsumoto)Measuring Energy Security for China: A Multi-Dimensional Approach (Thai-Ha Le, Nguyen Phuc Canh, and Wei Hao)Evaluating Energy Security in China: A Subnational Analysis (Huijuan Xiao, Zhengnan Zhang, Anting Wang, and Jingzheng Ren)Developing a Composite Energy Security Index for Measuring China's Integrated Energy Security Performances from 2002 to 2016 (Di Xu, Weichen Li, Lichun Dong, and Yingkui Yang) Measuring China's Oil Import Security with a Multi-Dimensional Approach from the Perspective of External Suppliers (Long Zhang, Wuliyasu Bai, and Jingzheng Ren)China's Energy-Supply Security in the Multi-Energy Transition Period from Fossil Fuels to Renewable Energy (Volkan Ş Ediger, John V Bowlus, and Ahmet Faruk Dursun)
