Salt. It ruled Mika's world and now it had all but run out. 

The dragons' only two choices were to join with the disreputable golden dragon, Slade, and risk the lives of dozens of unborn dragonets, or to die.

Mika and Rayn are tasked with finding out if there is a third option to save the entire dragon population.
