This children's book acquaints children with the fact that sharks are an endangered species and focuses on people who take shark fins and sell them to others who think they are good to eat, or are medicinal. There is NO discussion of blood and pain in the book. Gerhard the shark studies the problem and finds a scientist who can clone (duplicate exactly) shark fins so that the true living sharks do not have to give up their fins. Some of the fisherman give the Gerhard trouble, but most do not and all is a great success! These books are illustrated by the author in paintings appearing on the illustrated pages!
