Le testament du couturier, by Franco-Ontarian dramatist Michel Ouellette, sketches a dystopic, futuristic society in this minimalist drama. Its form, because of its maximum openness, belies the totalitarian society it describes. I will study the role of the boundaries in this brilliant social satire by showing that the drama outlines the precarious balance between individual and social bodies obsessed by performance, fighting the intruders which could slow this performance: a computer bug or biological virus, or even desire, which overtakes one like an illness. Ouellette makes his readers reflect on the consequences of a perfectly controlled productivity, without any interplay possible.
