Girls Trip

Five women. Eleven minutes. A once-in-a-lifetime trip to the cosmos. What could possibly go wrong?

From the bestselling author of Members Only comes a sharp and wildly entertaining satire of celebrity, wealth, girlboss culture, the stories we tell about powerful people.

Tessa Owens could use an adventure. Thirty-three, recently dumped, stuck in a dead-end job and wondering why, exactly, her life has swerved so far off the course she imagined for herself, she's about as far from astronaut material as possible. But when her sister secretly enters her in a contest to join the first all-female commercial space flight, Tessa is shocked to discover that she's won.

It's a childhood dream come true. Suddenly, she's Crew Member Five, hurtling toward the stars alongside four more famous (and more complicated) women: Rochelle Boxy, the relentlessly upbeat billionaire's wife bankrolling the mission; a pop diva desperate for a comeback; an influencer determined to make science sexy; and a legendary morning show anchor who would rather be anywhere else—even a war zone.

The flight will be an eleven minute celebration of female empowerment, broadcast live to millions. It will also be plagued by panic attacks, happy pills, shameless self-promotion, malfunctioning equipment, extremely inconvenient zero-gravity confessions—and the growing suspicion that their historic mission may be less about breaking glass ceilings than saving a billionaire's bottom line.

When something goes very, very wrong on a mission that has already gone spectacularly off-the-rails, it turns out that the least famous among them—average, boring Tessa Owens—may be the only one capable of getting them home.
