All Kazuaki Hidataka wants is to keep his aging, cutthroat mother out of trouble and get his late father's ship back on the ocean. Sure, his old man died a hated outlaw, but Kazuaki is certain he can restore glory to the Hidataka name by glossing over the ship's piratical past and rebranding it as an honest fishing vessel. Then, he and his mother could gloss over the sins of their family's past and resign to an honorable life.

Unfortunately, this dream isn't shared by Panagea's bluebloods. Their desire to eliminate their competition by destroying seafaring altogether has Kazuaki's integrity dangling like an anchor on a fraying rope. And as Kazuaki plunges into the cold waters containing the forgotten, mythical beasts of the past, the bluebloods seem to be the least of his problems.

When 'right' and 'wrong' changes with the tides, staying the course of a good, honest man feels impossible ... especially when it seems the only way to defeat a monster is to become one yourself.
