About the author

Allan was born in Suffolk in June 1974 and raised in Harleston on the Norfolk / Suffolk border. It was a time when Bobby Robson's Ipswich was becoming one the nation's leading sides and his footballing loyalities could easily have fallen either way. A school visit in the spring of 1982 from Norwich Manager, Ken Brown and striker Ross Jack was soon followed by Allan's first game at Carrow Road, a memorable 4-2 win over Watford side featuring a young John Barnes. The win kick started a late and unlikely surge to promotion and Allan was hooked. Like many Norwich fans, Allan has experienced highs such as the UEFA cup adventure, the win in front of the last standing kop at Liverpool and the play off semi-final victory over Wolves. He has also suffered lows that come with supporting your team, with the 1992 FA Cup semi-final defeat and of course the 1-7 home defeat to Colchester coming to mind. Allan is a qualified accountant whose passion lies in football. He has coached at soccer schools in the USA and played regularly until injury ended his playing days, but also gave him an opportunity to start writing. He currently lives in Bristol with his wife Libby and despite the long distances still gets to see Norwich City play as much as he can.
