Holocene Landscape Development

On the topic of European landscape development during the Holocene, this report focus on landscape diversication of (pre-) historic man on earth. According to RUDDIMAN (2003), the anthropogenic greenhouse era began at least 5000 years ago (RUDDIMAN, 2003, p. 265). He points out, that the implementation of agricultural practices required a clearance of woodland, which contributed to changing carbon and methane uxes. The following report attempts to answer the question, how human behavior had inuenced landscape. Therefore the history of anthropogenic impact on landscape will be described.
