This book is comprised of a series of lectures given by William Morris in the late 1870s. Morris was the most prominent figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement. His ideas on social reform and aesthetics sparked a renaissance in the decorative arts, crafts and architecture around the world. These talks were first published as a book by Ellis and White in 1882 and were reissued several times, including this edition in 1901 by Longmans, Green and Company.
